Firmware Upgrade - Cartridges Not Recognized on Brother Printers with 4G or 4H codes only!

We have been informed that Brother have made a firmware printer update which stops compatible and refillable cartridges from being recognised on certain models using LC123 cartridges.  This only affects printers with a serial number code containing 4G or 4H!

We advise that you turn off all firmware updates on your Brother printer to avoid future problems.
As far as we are aware there are no firmware downgrade procedures available at the moment?

UPDATE:  CARTRIDGES WITH LATEST VERSION CHIPS AVAILABLE BELOW...

These large cartridges each hold up to 80ml of ink and stick out from the front of the printer. The kit comes with a hook that fits inside the door sensor to make the printer think that the door is closed! Set-up is fairly easy, but please do not buy if you are not prepared for a little inconvenience during the initial set-up! Such users are best buying our smaller refillables that fit inside the printer the same as ordinary cartridges. They have a sponge-less design to improve print output and avoid problems with air bubbles and streaky print quality.
